From the beginning...

We found out we were pregnant, January 22nd. I waited for Patrick to come home from work to take the test together. We were both in complete shock and a lot of “Holy sh*t” were said. We went out to dinner to celebrate at one of our favorite restaurants in Oak Creek, Di Carlo (the only place that has comparable pizza to Kenosha pizza in the Milwaukee area). After dinner, we went to Target to buy the baby their first onesie, but we couldn’t find anything gender neutral, so we looked on Amazon and found this cute little onesie, Holy Guacamole! I used this picture as a way to tell close family and friends that we were pregnant.

The cookies, I made myself. I made these to tell our parents. I’m pretty sure my mom still has hers in her freezer. Lots of trial and error to make these cookies, to say the least. Thank god for YouTube.  (I apologize in advance for all the black backgrounds in the photos, I tried to crop them, but that clearly didn’t work)

This is the announcement we used for social media. Patrick was able to find this same onesie and got it for me for Mother’s Day. Could be a potential going home outfit along with Auntie Karen’s crochet shoes/hat!

Snapped at our first appointment! The OB I had when I started at my labor and delivery job just announced she is no longer taking OB patients, because she is focusing on working in the transgender clinic (how cool is that?!), she still picks up call on the labor and delivery unit, so we still get to see her.  I needed to pick a new provider, which I work with a ton of great ones. The OB provider that I chose, is so sweet, when she saw that I had an appointment with her, she felt so honored and teared up.

Taken after our 12 week ultrasound/first trimester screen. Look at that little hand waving hello!

This picture is a side by side of 18 to 19 weeks, only taken exactly 1 week apart. It was probably the most dramatic change and first time I felt like I was really starting to show.

Here we are after our anatomy scan, we opted not to find out the gender, but from our unprofessional/lack of knowledge of ultrasounds, we think it looked like a girl. Who knows! Check out that cute little button nose!

Back in June, my family decided to take a family vacation to the Ozarks. The Ozarks are right smack in the middle of us Wisco folks, Benetti’s in Texas, and Kilps in Indiana. It was hands down our best family vacation. Even though I missed some of the family activities due to being pregnant. Patrick and I stopped in St Louis to see the arch on our way. We didn’t go in, but I’ve never seen it or had ever been to St Louis. I’m 23 or 24 weeks in these photos from the trip. While we were there, my family threw me a surprise baby shower, I had no idea this was happening! Most of the guys were off mountain biking (besides my dad and Patrick) We were talking baby names (we still don’t have a girl name), it was fun to hear the names my nieces like, one that I remember in particular was “Nala”, I can’t remember if Nora or Ava said this.

While the rest of the family either went zip lining or tubing, Patrick and I went golfing, expensive course, but worth it and so pretty! We basically had the course to ourselves, not sure if it was related to covid or the fact that it was like a Monday or Tuesday.

Bella wrote out a skit making fun of all my siblings and I. Each grandkid played one of us, of course the one playing me (Nora) is drinking out of a red solo cup. Bella nailed it and had us all in tears. There was one point in the skit where the line was, “hang on, let me boomerang this,” and I had just gotten out my phone to record it. So spot on!
