Branko's First Birthday Party!
After Branko's swimming lesson, it was time to start getting prepared for the party! We had a perfect fall day, one of those mid-60's sunny type of days. It cooled off in the evening and we enjoyed a bon-fire with s'mores! I made another balloon arch, I gotta say, the one I made for Jackie's baby shower looked so much better, maybe because some of the girls helped me :)
What's a first birthday party without a keg? For those wondering, we did indeed finish it!
Woke up from his nap just a few minutes before Grandma/Grandpa got there!
He got a new water table from Grandma and Grandpa! We haven't brought it outside yet, although, maybe we should have since this has been such an awesome October weather-wise!
Carving pumpkins!
Branko/Max playing nicely!
Ready to smash some cake!
This isn't his smash cake, I'm not really sure why I didn't get a good picture of it. But it was a green donut to go along with his monthly donut pictures! This is the cake for everyone else at the party, I thought it was going to be a bit bigger, but we had just enough. I got the cake from the same place we got our wedding cake from, Aggie's Bakery.
It's nice to have a handy brother and brother in law, fixing our screen door so it slides a little smoother.
Cake with Aunt Chelsey!
I also bought faces for the pumpkins for the kids to do, here's Cici making hers! (rather Branko pulling off the eyebrow and her constantly putting it back on)
Kisses for Uncle Scott.
Our little green Monster.
I just love looking back at all of these cake smashing photos, more to come at the end of the post.
Our happy one year old! Branko was in such a good mood this day, it didn't even phase him that he skipped his afternoon nap!
It didn't take long for Branko to get his hands in the cake, however, it took him a bit to put his hands in his mouth. Pat had to put some in his mouth to get him started. Funny, because earlier in the day I had to keep telling Branko to keep rocks/sand out of his mouth. Once Branko got started, he really dug in. He enjoyed watching everyone watch him eat. I have a really cute video of him just being so excited while eating it, he was very vocal! Normally, he doesn't talk that much while he eats!
Note his feet, those got into the cake too!
That's it for now..
My siblings joined in and got Branko a remote BRONCO! It has a bluetooth speaker and we can control and drive it around with a remote. He loves it!
This photo is just a candid shot, but I think it really shows how happy and proud I am to be a mom to Branko. I had such an amazing day celebrating him with our close friends and family. I teared up a lot leading up to Branko's birthday
(and still do); sad because he'll never be this little again, happy to see what the future holds, and also just wanting time to slow down a bit. I hope I'm giving him a life that he's happy with and a childhood he'll look back on and have fun, happy memories.
The morning after the party, playing with some of his new gifts!
Helping with clean up duty.
Cruising on his other new car! Not pictured is his other cool snap-on car! He enjoys pushing that one around for now!
