A few more photos of our family trip to the Ozarks. These were taken right before we rented 2 boats for a few hours.  Bella and Sydney somehow never fell off the tube as hard as Uncle Scott and Uncle Jeff tried!  A few weeks after the Ozarks, we celebrated my 30th birthday. This has been my most laidback birthday in probably over a decade, but I wouldn’t have changed it for anything.  My co workers love a good boat rental in the summer, here we are celebrating my birthday and kick off of summer.  Also celebrated was my good friend Lindseys baby shower that was postponed due to covid. Ironically enough, I met Lindsey in orientation when we both started at Froedtert. She had just moved to Milwaukee from Peoria, IL. We’ve remained great friends since! We got married about 8 weeks apart and our due dates are 8 weeks apart. I was lucky enough to be her labor and delivery nurse when she delivered this little guy, Charlie, in August 5th!

First few days with Branko

My blood pressures kept dropping, so I would feel nauseous and light headed. Now looking back at these pictures, my lips were a tad pale! I was very nervous to stand up for the first time. I was able to stand at the side of the bed with the nurse later on in the day, but didn’t walk to the bathroom until almost 24 hours post delivery. I always tell patients to get up and move as soon as possible, but I just knew I would pass out if I did.  Rocking the hat Auntie Karen knit for him. I totally did not plan on everything matching, from his hat to my pajamas to the blanket! Auntie Jodi bought us Jersey Mikes for dinner the first night and Auntie Mary bought us Chipotle the second night. Jodi also got us dessert the second night from our the Cheesecake Factory, Branko got his own cheesecake and it was just about as big as him! Patrick and I both had our own and it was DELICIOUS! Thank you both for the meals! Patrick really got to know his way around the hospital. My parents tried to send us

It’s a BOY!

We didn’t find out if we were having a boy or girl, we were both pretty convinced we were having a girl.   I was 3 cm at my last OB appointment, which was 3 days before we welcomed this little guy into the world. One of my co-workers took a class to massage your feet with a certain essential oil. She rubs each foot for 15-20 min and holds pressure if I had a contraction (which I never did) or his heart rate went up (this is the perk of working in labor and delivery and getting to monitor his heart rate). She did this the Wednesday before I went into labor on Thursday, I swear, it’s what helped me kick into labor.   I We also updated our kitchen counter tops and new sink the week before we welcomed our little guy. We had to turn the water off in the entire house because the sink valves were broken, leaving us without water for a few days. I was freaking out about this in case I went into labor and needed the shower for pain relief. We hired a plumber to fix the valves so we weren’t with
